Dharnya Day 2026: All You Need to Know

Wednesday 8 July 2026 | Dharnya Centre | Yorta Yorta Country

Yorta Yorta Nation Aboriginal Corporation invites community members, Elders, families, partners and visitors to join us for Dharnya Day 2026, a special celebration held during NAIDOC Week 2026.

This year’s NAIDOC Week theme, “50 Years of Deadly”, celebrates five decades of recognising the strength, resilience, achievements and leadership of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across Australia.

Dharnya Day is an opportunity to come together on Country, celebrate culture, strengthen community connections and honour the stories, achievements and voices that continue to shape our future.

This year’s event is especially significant as it will include the official opening of the revitalised multimillion-dollar Dharnya Centre precinct, showcasing major upgrades that will support cultural education, tourism, community gatherings and school programs for generations to come.

Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the revitalised precinct, including new interactive touchscreen displays, refurbished bunkhouse accommodation for school groups, enhanced meeting and gathering facilities, outdoor yarning and fire pit spaces, and improved visitor experiences that strengthen connections to Yorta Yorta Country and culture.
