Administration Support Officer

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:Full-Time, Fixed Term – until 30 June 2028
PRIMARY LOCATION:Yenbena, 2–8 Schier Street, Barmah (and other locations as reasonably required)
SALARY:$55,000 – $65,000 per annum
SPECIAL MEASURE:This is an Indigenous Only role under Special Measures of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic), Section 12.

About the Role:

The Administration Support Officer provides high-level secretariat and administrative support to the Yorta Yorta Traditional Owner Land Management Board (YYTOLMB) and assists the Executive Officer and Board with day-to-day operations.

The role works within a dynamic legislative and natural resource management environment and supports the implementation of the Joint Management Plan for Barmah National Park, recognising and incorporating the knowledge and culture of the Yorta Yorta People.

Key responsibilities include executive and administrative support, coordinating meetings and Board papers, preparing correspondence and minutes, diary management, accounts and invoicing support, travel and catering arrangements, and maintaining website, social media and other communications as required.


About You:

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Yorta Yorta culture and the cultural diversity of First Nations Peoples.
  • Identify as and be accepted as a First Nations person within the community.
  • Experience providing executive or administrative support in a busy work environment.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise, use initiative and work with limited supervision.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and the ability to prepare professional correspondence, reports and other documents.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people and work respectfully within First Nations cultural protocols.
  • Relevant experience or knowledge of environmental and natural resource management principles within a First Nations cultural context.
  • The ability to navigate complex issues while maintaining sensitivity, confidentiality and discretion.
  • A current Australian Driver’s Licence and the ability to provide a satisfactory police check.
  • A Certificate III or IV in Administration, or more than two years’ experience in a reception or administration role, is advantageous.
  • Previous experience working within a First Nations or Traditional Owner organisation is advantageous.

Operations Manager

About the Role:

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all facets of Yorta Yorta Nation Aboriginal Corporation’s (YYNAC) Business Unit operations and assets. This role is accountable for executing day-to-day functions, managing resources, and optimising workflows to achieve the best strategic and commercial outcomes for YYNAC.

Working closely with the CEO and CFO, the Operations Manager translates the YYNAC Strategic Plan 2020–2030 into sustainable, compliant, and highly efficient operational realities that support the overarching objective of financial self-determination.


About You:

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Excellent organisation, time management, and proficiency in the MS Office Suit
  • Extensive senior operations or program management experience.
  • Deep knowledge of Yorta Yorta governance structures, with a proven ability to respect family lines and navigate community consultation.
  • Strong track record negotiating and advocating with senior government personnel, statutory authorities, and local councils.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, business planning, policy development, and managing day-to-day operations.
  • Exceptional coaching skills to lead diverse teams, paired with high-level written and verbal communication for all stakeholders.
  • Decisive, practical problem-solving skills with a calm, adaptable approach to shifting timelines and changing environments.

Climate Change Action and Renewable Energy Support Officer

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:Full-Time, Fixed-Term opportunity (12 months)
PRIMARY LOCATION:Shepparton Location (travel required)

About the Role:

The Climate Change Action and Renewable Energy Support Officer will be responsible for assisting the Climate Change Action and Renewable Energy Business Manager in multiple tasks and projects.

This role will provide an important “bridge” and act as a connector between industry and practical, on-ground community empowerment.


About You:

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated interest, knowledge and experience working with First Nation Groups on Climate and Renewable Energy regarding future change Risk, Mitigation and Adaption for future.
  • A proven knowledge and understanding of Yorta Yorta Nation, culture and practice.
  • Demonstrated good written communication skills, and the ability to work with people with different views and priorities.
  • Proven ability to draft clear, straightforward content and help present technical information in an accessible way.
  • Ability to achieve results through self-motivation and adapting to changing needs.
  • A demonstrated understanding or appreciation of traditional values and culture.
