The Yorta Yorta Nation Aboriginal Corporation (YYNAC) is pleased to provide information regarding the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria Reserved Seat Election. This election provides Yorta Yorta people with an important opportunity to participate in the selection of a representative who will help ensure our voices, interests and aspirations are represented within statewide Treaty discussions and decision-making processes.
Election Timeline
Voting Opens: Midday Monday 1 June 2026
Voting Closes: 5pm Thursday 11 June 2026
Results Announced: Friday 12 June 2026
Candidates
The following candidates have nominated for the YYNAC Reserved Seat Election:



Candidate Statements: To ensure all candidates are represented fairly and equally, YYNAC has made the official Candidate Information Booklet available for download. The booklet contains candidate statements, background information and election details as supplied by each candidate.
Yorta Yorta people can access voting for the YYNAC Gellung Warl Reserved Seat Election by completing the voter registration form below.
Once registered and confirmed as eligible, voters will receive a voting link via email and SMS.
Yorta Yorta people can register to vote up until the close of voting on Thursday 11 June 2026.
How Voting Works
The person who achieves the majority of votes will be declared elected as the Reserved Seat holder.
When voting, simply place a 1 beside your preferred candidate and mark preferences for other candidates if you wish.
