Celebrating 5 years of strong health and strong culture on Yorta Yorta country.
Three Rivers Festival is proudly celebrating its fifth year running in 2018 and is excited to announce this year’s deadly line up for the festival free concert and corroboree taking place on 17 November (Sat), 4 PM – 8.30 PM at the Echuca Moama Botanical Gardens.
Come and enjoy an amazing line-up of Aboriginal talent from Yorta Yorta country and beyond including; Isaiah Firebrace will return to Moama for a special homecoming performance after winning 2016 X Factor and representing Australia in the 2017 Eurovision Contest; Brothers In Arms dance crew will rip up the stage with their high energy powerful fusion Aboriginal, Tongan, and West Papuan culture; MC Philly, hailing from Mildura is a multi-award-winning young Aboriginal hip hop artist and activist inspiring young people to make a change; festival favourites, Indigenous Hip Hop Projects, return with their infectious beats and explosive dance moves; gifted young local singer-songwriter, Madi Colville Walker, will share some of her own original country songs; Shepparton’s own, Lillie Walker will take the stage with a voice and talent way beyond her years; Echuca’s Chris Cooper will bring some homegrown hip hop tunes and deadly vibes, and Jida Gulpilil will speak to your heart with songs and stories from country.
Three Rivers Festival Manager and Founder, Clayton Murray Mitchell says, ‘The Three Rivers Festival is very excited to make it to our fifth year running. It gives our people an opportunity to get together, come back to country, and to connect, express, heal and inspire. I feel as though this is not just a job but a responsibility to be able to provide our kids an experience to get up under the stars and dance in the footsteps of their ancestors!’
At 7.30 PM, the fire will be lit in our specially created sandpit for a Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony and deadly sunset corroboree. Be part of this special event that will see Aboriginal dance groups from all around Victoria come together to inspire community and celebrate ancient Yorta Yorta stories, place, spirit and ceremony.
Throughout the concert, there will be food stalls selling tasty eats and a marketplace with heaps of handmade Aboriginal arts, crafts, foods and more for sale – get in for a spot of early Christmas shopping!

The Three Rivers Festival is an annual community event held on Yorta Yorta woka (country) engaging people through the love of Touch Football, Music, Art and Aboriginal Culture. The theme of the 5th 3 Rivers Festival 2018 is “Celebrating 5 years of strong and strong culture”.a The festival is driven by a local volunteer committee, Aboriginal elders and community members and coordinated by former Echuca man, Clayton Murray-Mitchell, a proud Wemba-Wemba, Ngadjon-jji and Yorta-Yorta man currently living in Perth and working for youth mental health foundation Headspace. Culture, health, and identity are at the core of who Clayton is and everything he does and in 2014, he was awarded the Emerging Leader award from the Fellowship for Indigenous Leadership to establish the 3 Rivers Festival.
The festival enjoys strong support from a range of partners including Multicultural Arts Victoria, Department of Health and Human Services – Aboriginal Health and Wellbeing Branch, Yorta-Yorta Nations Aboriginal Corporation, Njernda Aboriginal Corporation, Touch Football Victoria, Moama-Echuca Touch Football Committee, Moama Aboriginal Land Counciland Moama Bowling Club.
